ABOUT R.O.I.O.s
ELASTIC ROCK is not a record company in any form, but merely a tracker for audio recordings of independent origin (ROIO) which have not been officially released.
As we all know, the ROIOs exist, anybody can make them vanish. So, why not let fans get them for free instead of having to purchase them from commercial bootleggers on auction sites? Anyhow, no audio or video content is hosted here. We only provide meta information files for the ROIOs.

COMPLAINTS
Only one rule here: NO COMPLAINTS for bitrates (please read below...) or indicated editions' form, quality or nature (except for the following paragraph's occurrences) are allowed here. Remember: not Hi-Fi is the aim here, but historical value. If you like a release, go and take it. If you don't, leave it. If you have something better, send or indicate it. Regarding the upload servers, NO COMPLAINTS the same!

AVAILABILITY ADVICE
Availability occurences' notices are welcome instead, but only if you indicate precisely wich full release or single or multiple tracks you think are currently or have been previously commercially available, and the precise title of the edition where the listed material is or has been officially published: otherwise we will unable to check it and proceed anyway. A word about bitrates...

This issue is totally out of bound in my opinion. Everybody is doing 320 kbs now, which isn´t really necessary and simply blows up the amount of data. In reality it´s the quality of the source material and the quality of the encoding program which makes for the quality of the mp3. I have a lot of rips in 128 kbs, which I keep that way because they are absolutely sufficient. Usually I do 192 kbs, because there is a slight, but listenable improvement in quiet passages. Everything above that isn´t useful. We did tests with very (very!) good equipment. Ordinary people couldn´t even tell, which one was the mp3 with 128, and which one was the CD. Trained people can do that, but they couldn´t with mp3s in 192 kbs versus 320 kbs. Very few could tell the difference between the two in a direct source a/source b test.The issue is getting religious, as is the discussion vinyl versus CD. What´s really silly about the whole thing is the fact, that some people now blow up their old 128 kbs mp3s to 320kbs, which isn´t of any use at all.
